As
holder of the Pembrokeshire Produce Mark, one of our
primary goals at the Tudor Lodge Restaurant in Jameston is to source and
use local produce wherever possible, striving to achieve 90-95% fresh
produce from Pembrokeshire and the rest of Wales. Our Chefs endeavor to
establish the route that our raw materials take when going from the field
to your plate, and make sure that it is the quickest route possible. Tudor
Lodge restaurant menus are changed seasonally, offering seasonal, carefully
sourced ingredients, which are prepared simply to allow the fresh flavors
to shine.
Try
our fresh meat which is mainly supplied by Andrew Rees butchers, some
of his produce comes from a local farm in Narbeth, as well as elsewhere
in Pembrokeshire. Or try our Welsh Black Beef (subject to availability),
which is reared locally and supplied by Yerbeston Gate Farm.
Supplied
by Walter Davies and JS Fishdirect, our fresh fish is caught in The Irish
and North Seas, and landed at Milford Haven or Tenby. Some of our Shellfish
are individually selected and collected fresh from Claws in Milford Haven.
Four
Seasons and Wisebuys supply our ravishing fresh fruit and vegetables,
both of who provide produce from, among others, Springfields Farm in Jameston,
and The Cardiff Market.
Cowpots
ice cream, freshly prepared in Whitland and delivered from there straight
to our front door, is run by a couple and their son. The fresh milk comes
from their three Jersey cows, which they make themselves into their delicious
ice cream. Upton Farm of Pembroke Dock, supplies all of our frozen food.
We also use a local Beer supplier, James Williams, who sources locally
produced beers, waters and spirits for the Tudor Lodge Restaurant.
Our
aim at the Tudor Lodge is to promote and supply quality produce that grows
locally, believing in the mantra “the quickest route from the field
to your plate”. We also believe in promoting and supporting local
businesses in and around Pembrokeshire, by using suppliers from this prospering
county. Most of our suppliers hold the Pembrokeshire Produce Mark, a quality
assurance award given by the County Council in recognition of providing
a majority of locally sourced produce or services.
We
hope you enjoy your dining experience here at The Tudor Lodge Restaurant
and should you require any additional information we will do our best
to accommodate your request. No genetically modified foods or foodstuffs
are used in any of the dishes prepared here at The Tudor Lodge Restaurant.
Tudor
Lodge Restaurant has recently achieved the Bronze Standard of the Welsh
Food Hygiene Award, given to food premises that have attained and maintained
high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene practices.
